Craving something different this February? Long Beach Island Region of the Jersey Shore promises to sweeten your winter getaway
Treat yourself and the ones you love to some quality time in LBI this winter. Begin by downloading the themed reading and movie list, created by the local branches of the Ocean County Library. In addition to reading and movies suggestions, the library branches invite visitors and residents to stop in and register for their planned activities that correspond with Chocolate Week, Feb 11-20, a Destination Marketing Initiative in partnership with the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and sponsor the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism.
This year is packed with activities for families, couples and own personal appetites such as free environmental events such as The Long Beach Island Foundation February Science Saturday will give a tribute to local ecosystem with a Chocolate Turtle Hand out Enjoy a Blissful Massage featuring a Mayan Gold Chocolate antioxidant drink with the area’s top spas. Stay overnight and take in the Minerva Bed & Breakfast Chocolate Cooking Class, Magnolia House’s Romantic Getaway or Daddy Os decadent dinners. Looking to getaway for more than a weekend? Visit local realtors including The Van Dyk Group, GA Anderson Agency for open houses with sweet treats or take the Golden Ticket Tour at Walter Homes in Barnegat. Take in some entertainment with a Valentine Dinner Comedy Show on Feb 12 at Long Shots, a Lighthouse International Film Festival Screening or Feb 17- Death By Chocolate – Murder Mystery Dinner Show at The Engleside Inn, Beach Haven benefiting the Tuckerton Seaport. Deliciously entertaining, interactive dinner show featuring a decadent three course dinner, topped off with Death by Chocolate. Guests will have the opportunity to play detective and guess “whodunit. for dinner show, as well as make it a weekend with special overnight package includes dinner, show, overnight accommodations at the Engleside Inn, breakfast and Tuckerton Seaport Guest Pass. Intermissions and hand outs. Back by popular demand is Chocolate Week Bartenders Competition starting at 8pm at TGI Friday’s in Manahawkin.
